چکیده

two nuclear microsatellite dna loci along with partial sequences of mitochondrial dna trna pro -d-loop region were analyzed to assess the genetic diversity and population genetic structure of spottybelly greenling ( hexagrammos agrammus ). a total of 85 individuals were investigated from two different locations at the east and the south coasts of korea which are imwonjin (im) and tongyeong (tn), respectively. in the analysis of genetic diversity, nucleotide diversities were low showing 0.01 whereas haplotype diversities were as high as 0.92 and 0.97 in im and tn populations, respectively indicating population bottleneck after rapid growth of these populations. no significant genealogical branches or clusters were recognized on the neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree. pairwise population statistics fst and the exact test of population differentiation from the analysis of microsatellite dna loci demonstrated no significant genetic difference between two populations investigated in the korean coasts. in addition, significant deviations from hardy-weinberg equilibrium and heterozygote deficiencies were found from the microsatellite dna loci. the results of the study will help to make a plan for fisheries management of the species.

Genetic Variation and Population Structure in Jamunapari Goats Using Microsatellites, Mitochondrial DNA, and Milk Protein Genes

Jamunapari, a dairy goat breed of India, has been gradually declining in numbers in its home tract over the years. We have analysed genetic variation and population history in Jamunapari goats based on 17 microsatellite loci, 2 milk protein loci, mitochondrial hypervariable region I (HVRI) sequencing, and three Y-chromosomal gene sequencing. We used the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mismatch distri...

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Iranian tulips revealed by EST-SSR and NBS-LRR Markers

The genus Tulipa L. (Liliaceae) comprises about 100 species and Iran is considered as one of the main origins of tulips. In this research, genetic diversity and population structure of 27 wild populations of tulips collected from Iran were studied by 15 highly polymorphic and reproducible expressed sequenced tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers and 8 nucleotide binding site (NBS)-enzyme...

Genetic Diversity and Structure of Natural Quercus variabilis Population in China as Revealed by Microsatellites Markers

Quercus variabilis is a tree species of ecological and economic value that is widely distributed in China. To effectively evaluate, use, and conserve resources, we applied 25 pairs of simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers to study its genetic diversity and genetic structure in 19 natural forest or natural secondary forest populations of Q. variabilis (a total of 879 samples). A total of 277 alle...

Genetic variation (protein markers and microsatellites) in endangered Catalonian donkeys

Genetic variation of the endangered Catalonian donkey breed (Equus asinus) has been analysed at 19 loci including seven protein loci and 12 microsatellite loci isolated from the domestic horse, in 98 individuals of both sexes. Only four protein markers and three microsatellites were polymorphic. Allele frequencies of the analysed loci showed close agreement with Hardy}Weinberg proportions, with...

Population structure and genetic diversity of New World maize races assessed by DNA microsatellites.

Because of the economic importance of maize and its scientific importance as a model system for studies of domestication, its evolutionary history is of general interest. We analyzed the population genetic structure of maize races by genotyping 964 individual plants, representing almost the entire set of ∼350 races native to the Americas, with 96 microsatellites. Using Bayesian clustering, we d...

Population structure and identify of macrofouling organisms on marine structures in the coasts of Chabahar Bay

This study has been carried out in the coast of Chabahar Bay from March, 2013 to Febuary, 2014. We sampled macrofouling organisms in three stations. Overall, 40 species of macrofouling organisms were detected in which Barnacles, sponges, Bryozoans, echinoderms, Polychaetes and Gastropods were the major groups. The majority of biomass and highest density were observed in the first half of the se...
